Monumental Inscription Recording

The Monumental Inscription Recording project is carried out during the months of  April – September and is co-ordinated by Angela Golding. Volunteers are welcome to attend any of the Tuesday recording sessions.

Contact Angela Golding  on 01432 274438 for list of parishes being recorded. This is subject to change depending on the numbers attending the sessions and the completion of each churchyard.

If you are not able to attend in person, perhaps you may be able to help by typing or checking against transcripts. Any help is appreciated.

An index is compiled from the resultant data and is available for sale, in PDF format, either on a CD or as a digital download.

See Publications page for details of parishes which have been completed.

See below for an example of a transcription from one of the published MIs

Volunteers needed to help re-type Monumental Inscriptions

Recently we have started a new project to re-type some of the old Monumental Inscription files and produce them on CD.  Perhaps this is something you can help with wherever you are in the world.  I send you a pdf file and you just re-type it into a new Word or similar text editor document. Contact the Editor Phil Bufton for details
