To change your Password, login and click Change Password Select Edit your Password and account details, click Save Changes.

Home Page

This page is designed to be a greeting page with minimal text, to include basic information on the society and contact details for the Secretary and Editor, along with some rolling images of Herefordshire. Every page has a link to all other main pages. We also have our Twitter comments fed into the front page, any comments tweeted to our page land up on this page.

Getting Started

Information for the very beginner, click the headings to expand to the full text for each topic.
Amongst other things a free blank family tree is available for download.

Membership

Joining the Society entitles you to four copies per year of Herefordiensis, our Journal. Articles on your family research may be submitted to the editor for publication.
We also exchange journals with over 80 other societies around the world, giving more people access to your articles.

Other benefits of joining include being able to join our on-line Discussion Page and access to the on-line Members Interests page.
Once a member, you can submit your interests and update them at any time.

Publications

The society publishes the indexes which it creates from transcription projects which are then produced on CD either in database format or as a PDF(Portable Document Format) which can be read by Adobe Acrobat Reader which is readily available on-line.

Our publications are only available either as a Download from the site following purchase or on a CD, we no longer publish anything on Fiche.

 

Events

This page will list all events the society will be attending, which may include family history, craft fairs or small local shows.

Herefordiensis

Herefordiensis is the official journal of the Herefordshire FHS. We encourage members of the society to write and submit articles on their family history research. The journal also includes help wanted, surname interests, regular articles on a theme including extracts from the newspapers 200 years and parish profiles.

All new members are encouraged to submit their surname interests on joining the society which gets published in the centre pages of the journal. We would ask that you also update and add to the on-line version.

Projects

This page gives details of projects the society is currently working on. If you can help, please contact the co-ordinator for each project to offer your assistance. Every little helps.

Members Discussion Page

This is where you can get interact with other members worldwide by posting on the members’ discussion pages.

To post on the forum you have to be a member of Herefordshire FHS and and a registered member of this site.

Access this facility via the Members Area.

To join, see our membership page.

To register on this site go to the Registration page and fill out your details and click Submit Application for Approval. This sends an e-mail to the society contact who validates your membership. Once validated you will get an e-mail confirming your acceptance to the site. You will now be able to login and post messages and access the Members Area.

 

Members’ Interests

Once logged into the site as a registered and approved member you are also able to up-load your Member’s Interests to the Surnames page.
Go to the Surname Interests page and click Add Interests link and add your interests. Use CAPITALS for the surname as this makes easier reading. Each surname entry does need to be entered individually.

To see which surnames are listed for each initial letter, select from drop-down menu and click Search.

 

Contact Us

The Contact Us page gives details of how to contach all the officers and committee members.

Meetings

The meetings page lists all the monthly meetings. These are free for anyone to attend. There is no entrance charge and you do not need to be a member.
